Why Give

First Donation

It is only fitting that the Farr family practices what they preach. The Farr family will be donating the “medical” equipment that was accumulated over the years. Putting the word “medical” in front of any item nearly quadruples the cost. Special needs bicycles cost over $3,000, specialized adjusting strollers cost over $1,500, and custom wooden chairs can cost over $1,500. The price of adaptive equipment for special needs children is staggering creating additional financial hardships and stress on families. The Farr family has been fortunate enough to provide a lot of the wants and needs for their daughter, Maddie. Through her passing, the Farr family has decided to be the first to pay it forward by donating equipment through the Maddie Farr Foundation and invites others to do the same.

Salvation Army Angel Tree

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program provides new clothing and toys to more than one-million children and families in need each year.  This year, BFarr Contracting and the Maddie Farr Foundation have partnered with the Salvation Army to make it a spectacular year for Special Needs Children.

Donations from the Maddie Farr Foundation have gone to sponsor all of the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Special Needs Children in 2021, 2022 and we will continue to do this in 2023 and the years to come.  Each year there are 40 or more Special Needs Angels needing to be sponsored.  All donations are 501c3 tax deductible.

Why give to us?

The foundation’s goal is to ensure that special needs children have access to the equipment they need to enrich their lives. The foundation will vet donation recipients by working with local therapists to find the families that are truly in need. The foundation will make connections with families that have equipment they no longer use or need and are willing to donate to families that can use the equipment. We will also help offset the cost of new equipment.

Ultimately, we want to make sure that special needs kids are given every opportunity to reach developmental milestones and live their best life. With your help, The Maddie Farr Foundation, will make a true positive impact on the quality of life for special needs children and their families.
